I use a combination of rub and oil on my thumbs and wrists where the arthritic pain is and the rub on my knee. The pain reduction has been considerable enough to allow me to manage all my normal household tasks without flinching when I pick something up or turn a tap. The oil also helps reduce the bruising I've experienced on my shins. They are not a cure but I'm very satisfied after trying many concoctions.
