FAQs

Pure Australian emu oil is a natural product and can vary in colour from yellow to white. When warm, it’s a liquid (a similar consistency to olive oil), and it solidifies when cold. It’s important to know this so you can be sure you’re buying the right product for your needs. Many products on the market today have the words ‘emu oil’ in large print, with ‘cream’ or ‘crème’ appearing in very small type underneath. We think this is misleading – it means you might believe you’re buying a bottle of pure emu oil to treat arthritis or psoriasis, when you’re really getting a diluted product. If in doubt, read the label to make sure it says ‘100% emu oil’.

How should emu oil be stored?

Emu oil stores well at normal household temperatures. For best results keep it out of direct sunlight. You can store emu oil in the fridge but be aware that the oil will solidify when exposed to cold temperatures. If your oil has hardened, gently warm the container to return it to a liquid.
